"Call for Artists: Second Edition of Contemporary International Art"

The call to the International Show of Contemporary Art in the Museum of the Americas is open for plastic artists from everywhere. The technique and the subject of the work are FREE. There will be a UNIQUE size of 60 x 80 cm., the work exceeding this size will not be accepted. The work should be sent ROLLED UP in order to save transportation costs. If the work technique would not allow it, it should be sent ready to be hung, always respecting the size 60 x 80 cm. The transportation cost of the work is the artist's.

The show coordinator will provide frames of 60 x 80 cm to mount the work. Any work damage during transportation or showing will be responsibility of the artist. The date to receive the work is as from JUNE 29 to JULY 3, 2009 and it must be strictly obeyed. The works not presented within this time will not be accepted.

The date to get the works back is JULY 27 and 28 in the same address of the Museum. After that date, the show coordinator and the museum will not be responsible of sending the works to their pertinent destinations. It will be supposed that the artist who does not take his/her work back during the stated date, will DONATE the work to charitable organizations.
The museum will be responsible for the following:

1-Preparation and delivery of invitations to the general public.
2-Exclusive invitations to the opening for participant artists and press.
3-Work distribution and hanging in the room.
4-Opening ceremony.
5-Catalogue with the work image of all participants.
6-Circulation in the written press.

The show coordinator will be responsible for the following:

1-Selection of participant artists.
2-Contribution reception.
3-Work reception in the museum and appropriate delivery.
4-Frame supply for the works.
5-Works mounting and dismantling.
6-Contact artist-buyer if there were an interested party to buy his/her work, without any fee.
7-Delivery of certificates of participation, catalogues, and press articles to each participant.

The contribution per artist is 250 American Dollars (200 Euros) per work, being the artist able to participate with a maximum of 2 works.

Participation

Each artist should send an email to oscarpoliotto@powervt.com.ar
the subject should state: participation in the International Art Museum of the Americas
stating the following information:
1- File attached of a JPG image low resolution of a work; any work, not necessarily the showing work.
2-Heading, technique, year when the work was made, and price of the work.
3-JPG file attached of low resolution with the author picture.
4-Author personal data: Date of birth, nationality, address, email, and postal address.

The deadline to be registered is April 30, 2009.
The International Show of Contemporary Art will be composed by the first 40 artists who send their notice, so you should NOT pay the contribution until the vacancies are complete. Once the minimum quota is complete, you will receive an email authorizing you to send the contribution by a Western Union transfer. Please, DO NOT SEND THE CONTRIBUTION NOW. Avoid unnecessary refund charges, which shall be at your own expenses.

It is supposed that if the artist participates, he/she agrees the general conditions of the International Show of Contemporary Art taking place in the Museum of the Americas, Miami, United States of America, as from July 10 to 24, 2009.
