"Call for Artists: Grolsch SwingArt Program"
2009-05-28 until 2009-06-01
New Art Dealers Alliance (NADA)
New York, NY, USA United States of America

The New Art Dealers Alliance (NADA) - is pleased to announce its collaboration with the Grolsch SwingArt Program 2009. Grolsch, the official beer of contemporary art, continues now in its 4th year of supporting the most important contemporary art fair week in Miami Beach, December 3-6, 2009. Grolsch - famous for its iconic Swingtop bottle - introduced the SwingArt Program in 2007 to commission an artist and produce a limited number of Grolsch bottles featuring the artist's work. This unique partnership with Grolsch will enable NADA to further our goal of making the contemporary arts more accessible for the general public, and creating opportunities that nurture the growth of emerging artists, curators and galleries.

The Grolsch SwingArt Program 2009 will commission a limited edition artwork label by a living contemporary artist for the iconic Grolsch Swingtop bottle. The edition number will be 1615 in honor of the founding date of the Grolsch Brewery. In addition to an honorarium of $1,000, the artist's winning artwork will be exhibited and distributed on promotional materials at the official pre-launch party in New York, followed by the official launch in Miami Beach during the week of December 3-6, 2009. Please see more information regarding the call for entries below.

NADA has invited a panel of widely respected curators specialized in emerging contemporary art to review submissions and select the winning artwork. These curators are:

Matthew Higgs, White Columns, New York
Benjamin Godsill, New Museum, New York
Shamim Momin, Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, Los Angeles
