"Call for Artists: Artist-in-Residence Program"
2009-06-11 until 2009-07-15
Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft
Louisville, KY, USA United States of America

The Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft is now accepting applications for the next Artist-in-Residence Program, which will run from August 15th through December 15th, 2009. The program provides an emerging artist the opportunity to hone their craft within an active museum environment, which is part of the vibrant arts community in Louisville. Benefits include the use of studio space and tools, a $5,000 stipend for materials, free admission to adult workshops, and the opportunity to network with professional artists.

Applications can be downloaded at www.kentuckyarts.org and must be submitted by July 15, 2009. For more information, contact Dane Waters at 502.589.0102 or danewaters@kentuckyarts.org.

“The Artist-in-Residency program has given me the opportunity to create a new body of work at an intensity level only found in a museum setting,” says Marie-Elena Ottman, current Artist in Residence at KMAC. “It offered me the opportunity to teach a workshop, meet and network with fellow artists and buyers, and most importantly to me, it gave me the confidence I needed to keep up with my art.”
