Trisha Lambi announces that her painting ‘The Ballet Roche’ has won the $5,000 Acquisitive Warwick Art Prize 2009. The painting will now become part of the art collection of the Southern Downs Regional Council. The prize was judged by Edwina Corlette of Edwina Corlette Gallery in Brisbane and is on display at the Warwick Art Gallery until the 8th November, 2009. It is an impressive collection of paintings a visit is highly recommended. Trisha Lambi has been a Premiere Portfolio Member at absolutearts.com since 2001.
The win is especially dear to Lambi as she grew up on a farm outside Warwick and worked there for a couple of years after leaving school. The artists parents still live on that farm which is the subject of the painting.
The Warwick Art Gallery is a community facility, managed by Warwick Art Gallery Inc. and funded by Warwick Shire Council.
The Gallerys aim is to identify, promote and celebrate the communitys artistic and cultural identity and support community-based festivals, exchanges and events, as well as to bring to the community the art and culture of other communities in order to broaden their experiences and appreciation of the artist.
