Art News:
“I'VE WATERED A HORSESHOE AS IF IT WERE A FLOWER" After three very successful years in Chinatown, Los Angeles, please join us in celebrating our new gallery space on La Cienega Blvd, in Culver City. By more than quadrupling our exhibition space, we are looking forward to growing alongside our artists and we welcome you to an exiting new program of exhibitions. The title of our inaugural show, “I’ve Watered a Horseshoe as if It Were a Flower”, is appropriated from one of Miklos Onucsan’s works, and it represents our commitment to the artists we’ve had the honor of representing over the past few years. Importantly, it also plays homage to their practice of making art. In this show, we are proud to present new works from Tom Chamberlain, Adrian Ghenie, Ciprian Muresan, Miklos Onucsan, Jonathan Parsons, Katie Pratt, Neal Rock and Serban Savu. Opening Reception: Friday, October 30, 2009, 6 – 9 pm New Venue: Mihai Nicodim Gallery 3143 South La Cienega Blvd, Unit B Los Angeles, CA 90016 T: 323.610.3780 info@nicodimgallery.com www.nicodimgallery.com Captions: Adrian Ghenie - "Berlin Zoo", 2009, oil on canvas, 240 X 200 cm
