"Sunrise Gallery 1st Juried Show Opened Last Week"
2009-10-24 until 2009-11-15
Sunrise Gallery
Hamilton, ON, CA Canada

Sunrise Gallery hosts it's 1st Juried Show in Hamilton, Ontario from October 24 to November 15, 2009. An opening reception was held Saturday, October 24th. Prizes awarded included Best in Show, 2nd prize, 3rd prize, The Gerald Gunter Memorial Award, and Honourable Mention. The jurors for the exhibition were Mary Ellen Heiman and Rhona Wenger. Claudette Losier's transfer art piece "Noodling My Doodling With Thy Neighbour" was accepted in this show and won The Gerald Gunter Humanity Prize Award. Claudette Losier has been a Premiere Portfolio Artist at absolutearts.com since 2007.

Claudette Losier comments about her work, "This award is for an art piece that speaks about Universal Consciousness and concern about Humanity. My piece is about the second commandment of loving your neighbour as yourself because reality is we are all one. Susan's brother lived on the fringe of society and was not notice by his neighbours and one cold winter day he died in his apartment because he had no food and none of his neighbours noticed him. He had no phone to call his sister and could not get out because of the snow."
