Taft Museum of Art open extra day a week, partnering with FreestoreFoodbank for the holidays

The Taft Museum of Art will be open an extra day a week during the holiday season. Beginning Nov. 24, the galleries, Café and Shop will open on Tuesdays.

During this time, visitors will also be able to save on regular admission to the Taft by making a contribution to the FreestoreFoodbank. Guests who bring a non-perishable food item for the Museum's collection bin will receive $1 off the regular admission price.

Special programs are planned for the following Tuesdays.

Tuesday, November 24, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
Members' Shop Sale - Taft Museum of Art members can shop and save for the holidays! A variety of great merchandise, including holiday items, jewelry and stationery, will be 20 percent off. Sale continues through Nov. 29.

Tuesday, December 1, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
Anniversary Celebration - Visit the Taft and enjoy free treats from Maribelle Cakery in Farmer Family Lobby in honor of the Museum's 77th anniversary.

Tuesday, December 8, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
Senior Appreciation Day - Senior guests can enjoy complimentary cookies, tea and coffee in Luther Hall before or after visiting the galleries.

Visitors will also enjoy an extra day each week to see the holiday favorite Antique Christmas. Guests can celebrate the festive season with friends and loved ones, while they experience the wonder and joy of vintage decorations throughout the Tafts' home. During Antique Christmas old-fashioned Christmas decorations from a number of private collectors in the area will adorn the galleries of the Taft Museum of Art. The exterior of the historic house will be festooned with garlands and wreaths from Frontgate.

The Taft will be open Tuesday through Sunday, 11 a.m. - 5 p.m., from Nov. 24 through Jan. 3, 2010. The Café will be open Tuesday through Sunday, 11 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Reservations are suggested, call 513-352-5140.

The Taft Museum of Art is at 316 Pike St., in downtown Cincinnati. Between November 24 and January 3, 2010 the museum, shop and café will be open on Tuesdays; see website (www.taftmuseum.org) for additional information. Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for students and seniors and free for children under 18.

The Taft Museum of Art is supported in part by the generosity of individuals and businesses that give annually to the Fine Arts Fund. The Ohio Arts Council helps fund the Museum with state tax dollars to encourage economic growth, educational excellence, and cultural enrichment for all Ohioans.

The Taft Museum of Art is accredited by the American Association of Museums and is affiliated with the Association of Midwest Museums and the Ohio Museums Association.
