"A MESSAGE FROM THE FIRING LINE.....about PLACE."
Exhibition runs until December 31 at The Galway City Museum, Ireland

NATALIE BALL. ISABELA BASOMBRIO HOBAN.
JOHN HOBAN. SHIMON SAKAKIBARA.
This exhibition features the work of an artists/musician collective from Ireland, Japan, Peru, and (Native) North America. The collective have been exploring the experiences of place while referencing their own individual cultural work. They explore the tensions between the traditional and contemporary, the native and the immigrant, transplantation, intermixing, authenticity and 'roots' to give evidence that the message, not the messenger, is what survives in movement. This exhibition is an artistic articulation of their realities and experiences of place, as immigrants and indigenous, and what falls in between.
Galway City Museum, Spanish Parade, Galway.
Open Tuesday - Saturday, 10am - 5pm
Exhibition runs until December 31st 2009
