"Photo Global: New Releases 2009" An exhibition featuring work by students from the Photo Global Certificate Program of 2008 - 2009. Photo Global is a one-year, intensive residency for international participants offered by the BFA Photography Department at the School of Visual Arts. Curated by faculty member Marc Joseph. "American Photographs" This exhibition features the work of Devon Ward (BFA 2008 Photography), a 2008 recipient of the Tierney Fellowship, given to a promising BFA Photography candidate at SVA to encourage a new body of photographic work within a year of graduation. November 20 - December 19

"Octet: Codes and Contexts in Recent Art" An exhibition of over 90 works by faculty, alumni and students from the BFA Fine Arts Department, offering a wide-ranging survey of current trends and issues in contemporary art. The exhibition was first presented at the Suna and Inan Kiraç Foundation Pera Museum in Istanbul, Turkey in fall 2009. Curated by Department Chair Suzanne Anker and faculty member Peter Hristoff. "A Legacy Revised" Exploring the relationships between inherited natural order and imposed human order, the works in this exhibition examine themes of alteration, reformation and adaptation. The works on view include drawings, paintings, sculpture, photography and video. Curated by Maria José Dubon. December 3 - 23 Reception: Tuesday, December 8, 6 - 8pm
