Dear Friends:
We are delighted to announce Dr. Christine Litz as a new member of the
dOCUMENTA (13) organizsational team. Recently appointed project
manager, she is responsible for the realization of the ideas developed
by the artistic director, Carolyn Christov-Barkagiev, and her
curatorial team, as well as for the artists’ projects and other
elements that will ultimately comprise dOCUMENTA (13).
Christine Litz is an art historian. She studied Art History, German
Language and Literature, and Education in Cologne and Bochum, where she
completed her doctorate on “Script in the Visual Arts” in 2002.

At the Wallraf-Richartz-Museum and Museum Ludwig, Cologne, Litz was
responsible for a weekly film- and lecture series from 1999 to 2000,
and she was assistant to Director Kasper König at the Museum Ludwig.
For the Museum Ludwig, she initiated the “film-bar” together with Peter
Allmann and developed the educational programs “Art: Dialogues” and
“Young Night.” She became internationally known as the project manager
of skulptur projects münster 07, where she worked from 2005 to 2007.
Immediately prior to her engagement in Kassel, she was a visual arts
expert in the Ministry for Science and Culture of Lower Saxony.

Liebe Freunde,
Wir freuen uns Ihnen mitzuteilen, dass die Organisation der dOCUMENTA
(13) ein weiteres Gesicht bekommen hat! Dr. Christine Litz ist die
Projektleiterin der dOCUMENTA (13) und verantwortlich für die Umsetzung
der Ideen, die die künstlerische Leiterin, Carolyn Christov-Barkagiev,
und ihr kuratorisches Team entwickeln. Ausserdem wird sie die Projekte
der KünstlerInnen und andere Beiträge, aus denen dOCUMENTA (13)
bestehen wird, realisieren.
Christine Litz ist Kunsthistorikerin und studierte Kunstgeschichte,
Germanistik und Pädagogik in Köln und Bochum, wo sie 2002 mit einer
Dissertation zur Schrift in der Bildenden Kunst promovierte.

Unter anderem stellte sie von
1999 bis 2000 eine wöchentliche Film- und Vortragsreihe am
Wallraf-Richartz-Museum/Museum Ludwig, Köln, zusammen, war dort von
2001 bis 2005 Assistentin des Direktors Kasper König und hat gemeinsam
mit Peter Allmann die „filmbar“ ins Leben gerufen und die
Vermittlungsprogramme „kunst: dialoge“ und „Junge Nacht“ entwickelt.
International bekannt wurde sie dem Fachpublikum als Projektleiterin
der skulptur projekte münster 07, für die sie von 2005–2007 tätig war.
Unmittelbar vor Ihrem Engagement in Kassel war sie am niedersächsischen
Ministerium für Wissenschaft und Kultur Referentin für Bildende Kunst.
