Opening reception: 7:00 pm Curated by Gabriela Rangel and José Luis Blondet Americas Society 680 Park Avenue at 68th Street New York, NY 10065 Gallery Hours: Wednesday-Saturday 12-6 p.m. www.americas-society.org Marta Minujín: MINUCODEs revisits an earlier project by the Argentine artist, held in 1968 at the Americas Society, then known as the Center for Inter-American Relations (CIAR). Minujín collected social data through a series of cocktail parties that were attended by people who responded to a series of questionnaires the artist posted in the press. Drawing on methods used in happenings and cinema verité, Minujín staged an immersive electronic environment in the CIAR gallery using footage from the cocktail parties, installing a series of light and sound shows created by selected party guests in an adjacent room.
