Wir freuen uns zum ersten Mal Objekte von Aljosha in einer Einzelausstellung zu zeigen. Der Künstler, 1974 als Aleksey Alekseevich Potupin in Glukhov in der Ukraine geboren, studierte in Düsseldorf wo er seit 2003 lebt und arbeitet. Er hat in den letzten 10 Jahren ein erstaunliches Oeuvre an Objekten, Zeichnungen, Aquarellen und Gemälden geschaffen - auf Erstgenannten liegt der Fokus der aktuellen Präsentation. Die Ausstellung zeigt einen Einblick in die Ästhetik eines Künstlers, die durch Erkenntnisse der Bio- und Gentechnologie inspiriert wurde. Ihn fasziniert der Mikrokosmos kleinteiliger Materie und aus diesem geistigen Stoff und mit dieser speziellen Perspektive schafft er Kunstobjekte, die schwer vergleichbar mit Arbeiten anderer Künstler bleiben: Er stellt seine Arbeiten überwiegend aus Acryl-Fäden her. In sorgfältiger Kleinarbeit. Manchmal arbeitet er Monate lang an kleinen Kugeln und überdimensionalen Eiern, die er auf Stelen wie Skulpturen montiert oder einfach, wie ein Spinngewebe, an die Wand klebt. Für seine künstlerische Vision hat Aljosha den Begriff „Bioism“ geprägt. In einem Statement über die Idee hinter seiner Kunst schreibt er: “bioism or biofuturism represents my attempt of creating new living forms and the new aesthetics of the future organic life. bioism for me is the way to develop art objects which itself express the new forms of vital activity."
