MARIJKE johanna BOUCHIER
EROSION.
In this site specific, solo exhibition Marijke Bouchier presents new work from an ongoing series of wall drawings and audio compositions that address the profound and unsettling connections between happiness, home and fear. This installation, which will take place in her home, will be open to the public for four days, over which time the hand stencilled wallpaper drawings will slowly expand, overlap and mutate, gradually filling the unoccupied spaces of wall in eerie and unpredictable ways.
Marijke Bouchier, a New Zealand born intermedia artist, completed her BFA at Massey University in Wellington, New Zealand. Based in Montreal since August 2007, Bouchier is completing an MFA degree at Concordia University – this thesis exhibition represents the culmination of those studies. Her work has been widely exhibited in both New Zealand and Canada.
