A shift in direction toward the
contemporary is the impetus for a new name for a well established gallery
on Bennett Street. "Our mission is to engage a contemporary stable of
artists who exemplify innovation in technique, content, and quality. After
spending many years focused on the classical forms of painting, we find
ourselves drawn to experimental media and inspired by artists interested
in seeking a more meaningful process. -Susie Pryor, Owner
Andre Petterson
Petterson attempts to capture the essence of a split-second in time.
His current photography-based mixed media work explores various themes
(from horses to typewriters) with a common thread of light
experimentation.
Born in Holland in 1950, Petterson now lives and works in Vancouver,
BC.
Ally is recognized as one of the South`s finest painters, and
utilizes a wide variety of materials - dry pigments, acrylics, tar,
fabrics, oils, bonding agents, and different clays dug from the Georgia
soil. His work at Pryor Fine Art is a range of mixed media, oil on canvas,
and works on paper.
“While her compositions are made up of
familiar elements, familiar triggers, their whole is something completely
new...you are transported to a place outside yourself, provocatively
estranged from your own perceptions and fantasies. [Her] images can
infiltrate and influence the dream state of your next sleep like the best
of suggestions.” –Trudy Stack, Curator of the University of Arizona
Center for Photography.
"At present, I continue with my interest in the human figure and the
attributes that surround it. These attributes reflect something about the
being without giving a specific narrative. Ideas about life and death,
sensuality, sexuality, nature, experiences in the realm of dreams, psyche
and spirit are my ongoing topic. A lot of inspiration for these pieces
stem from my ongoing love for the art of the European Masters, Early
American Folk Art, as well as vintage and modern photography."--Anne Siems

After finishing his M.A. in Educational Psychology, artist Michael
Moon began his formal study of art at the Art Center College of Design and
UCLA. Influenced by El Greco`s passion, the Impressionist`s love of color
and the Expressionist`s love of paint, painted essentially in solitude for
eight years. During this time he also began to be influenced by Eastern
thought and the practice of meditation. It is during this time that he
began to integrate Eastern and Western thought in the symbolism of his
paintings.
