JAMES KOEHLER
On behalf of James Koehler, we would like to invite you to join us for an Exhibition Opening at Translations Gallery. Drinks & Hors d'oeuvres will be served. Free & Open to the Public.
James Koehler is a world-renowned tapestry artist, with work in collections of the Denver Art Museum, The Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian American Art Museum and several United States Embassies. He is influenced by the extraordinary landscape and unique cultures of New Mexico and by certain aspects of the monastic aesthetic--simplicity, purity, and seeking and portraying only what is essential. Color, structure, and form are the focus of his approach to contemporary design. His tapestries are completed with highly technical processes that include special dying techniques with some pieces taking more than three months to complete.
Exhibition Dates: April 2nd - May 1st, 2010
