Art Advisory is pleased to present, "OBJECT-ive", a group show of small-scale 3D works. Using furniture as a means to connect the viewer to the art, "OBJECT-ive" re-opens us to the idea of placing contemporary fine art objects in our homes. Joining us are Paul Clement, Jodi Hayes, Sher Fick, Ron Lambert, Aletha Carr, Becky Alprin, and Elizabeth Seiters.
"OBJECT-ive" gives center stage to various 3-D
explorations. Unlike the brawny
objects we see heavily placed upon roadside knolls, this is a show about
meaty concepts translated through simple, small-scale design. The nature of contemporary sculpture is innately interesting,
yet not always approachable with regard to display. While only conceptually utilitarian, these objects retain an
element of spectacle while minding the notion of practical contemporary
collecting.
What began as a simple nod to small-scale objects has become an
investigation of re-invented intentions behind familiar forms. In this way may we discover a balance between tangible expression and approachability.
