RYAN TRECARTIN AND LIZZIE FITCH

Listen in on what promises to be a lively, informal, and informative conversation between ICA's Student Advisory Board members and Philadelphia-based artists Ryan Trecartin and Lizzie Fitch. This program is presented in conjunction with the exhibition
Queer Voice , which includes Trecartin’s video work
P.opular S.ky (section ish) (2009) and
the script for K-Corea INC. K (Section A) (2009), along with the work of eight artists across three generations, on view through August 1, 2010. This program is free and open to the public.
Ryan Trecartin (born in Webster, TX, 1981) studied at the Rhode Island School of Design
and is currently based in Philadelphia. His exhibition
Ryan Trecartin: Any Ever is currently
on view at The PowerPlant, Toronto. In 2009, Trecartin won
the inaugural Jack Wolgin International Competition in the Fine Arts, and was named Best New
Artist of the Year in the First Annual Art Awards at the Guggenheim Museum.
Lizzie Fitch (born in Bloomington, IA, 1981) was educated at the Rhode Island School of Design and is also currently based in Philadelphia. She has exhibited in collaboration with Ryan Trecartin at Elizabeth Dee Gallery, New York; Crane Arts, Philadelphia PA (both 2007); and the Royal Academy of Arts, London (2006).
