Bealtaine-Event facilitated by Marietheres Schulze

May belongs to the Bealtaine festival, celebrating creativity in older age! Thousands of older people now take part in the Bealtaine festival, with 2010 being its 15th year.
The tour will present the landscape pictures at the gallery that are now on display during the exhibition Abundance II. Highlights include beautiful treasures from artists like Walter Verling, Paul Henry, Charles Lamb and others. The Irish landscape pictures around 1900 are influenced by the French School of Barbizone, but developed their own expression and use of colour. The tour will be followed by some refreshments.

Under the overall theme of OPEN/INVITED e v+ a 2010 / Matters the artist Tara Whelan offers an opportunity for children of different age groups to explore their environments and the surrounding world by drawing using a quiet and slow approach. Children will sit down to focus on an object, take their time to look at it and draw it in detail.

Family Days examine many ways of making art, allowing children to experiment with new and exciting ways of making through drawing, painting, collage and sculpture. Mummies, Daddies, Grannies or Uncles are all welcome to join in! Please note all children must be accompanied for the workshop.
