ANGEL ORENSANZ BRINGS HAITI TO CANNES.
Spanish artist Angel Orensanz arrived in Cannes to celebrate a fundraising event of support for the reconstruction of Haiti; more specifically to support the reconstruction of its cultural heritage; and in cooperation with the International Red Cross. The event is this Friday May 21. On his arrival to the Cannes Airport, Orensanz said: “It will take years of work to recover the art treasures destroyed by the earthquake, such as the architecture, the sculpture, the museums, archives and libraries and to recover the paintings, books. Films, video and many other components seriously damaged or destroyed”.
The event will be attended by guests such as Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie. Angel Orensanz is in Cannes invited as publisher of Artscape, a New York art paper. This magazine will publish an extensive report about the Cannes Film festival and the Art Show Cannes.
This fundraising report will take place in the mansion in Vallauries of Christian Poligo, a great promoter of contemporary art in Europe and it will be attended by many artists from the movie and the art industries. There will be a an art auction of works by painter Dodo Newman. The event will be presided over by Sheik Abdallah S. Fassi, a world arts patron. |
