Richard X Zawitz “guarantees” positive
energy with USC commissioned Sculpture
Los Angeles, CA (August 18, 2010) - Artist Richard X
Zawitz's sculpture "Infinity 8.30" is being showcased at the new
Ronald Tutor Campus Center as part of The Art Grand Opening Celebration. The
event and reception to meet the artist will take place on September
30th from 6 pm to 8 pm beginning in the Trojan
Family Room. Zawitz's latest Infinity sculpture, one of two
artworks commissioned by USC, is a two-year in development, site-specific work,
created and dedicated to USC.
Zawitz said, "I am really pleased
with this work, as it truly embodies the Tao and Chi infused in all of my
sculptures". This 12 ' high stainless steel and granite work radiates
positive energy to the environment. Zawitz "guarantees" this fact on
all his works.
After over 40 years of sculpting with his unique
Asian/Western modality, Zawitz is known as the only avowed "Zen
Sculptor" working professionally today.
USC Vice President for
Student Affairs, Dr. Michael L. Jackson said, "We are incredibly proud and
thankful to have this magnificent sculpture as part of our permanent collection
here at USC, and in our new campus center. The universality of the work will
inspire students, faculty, alumni, and visitors for years to come."
Richard X Zawitz, also known as the Tanglemaster and inventor, is responsible
for the over 100 million Tangle Toys around the world as well. Zawitz has said
that he will not be satisfied until every man, woman, and child on the planet
experiences the joy of Tangle, and his mantra of peace through creativity.
Pittsburgh-born “Zen
Sculptor” Richard X Zawitz is the inventor of Infinity Art, a collection
of sculptures, including his well-known stainless steel sculpture, the Statue of
Infinity placed at the JW Marriott in Hong Kong. With roots in fine arts,
sculpture, Asian art history and philosophy, and, wood and stone carving,
Zawitz’s travels led him to the Tibetan infinite knot, containing a
pattern of interwoven lines with no beginning and no end, that symbolizes
infinite life and creation – the inspiration behind the Statue of
Infinity. Zawitz is also known as the Tanglemaster, the mastermind, and
executive behind the highly successful Tangle Creations
Company.
