The Center for Emerging Visual Artists is
pleased to present the 11th Annual Philadelphia Open Studio Tours. This event features over 300 local participants and mobilizes over 20,000 members of the community, making it the most comprehensive tour of artist studios in
the region and the only event of its kind in Philadelphia. During the first
two weeks of October, this annual festival of visual art includes self-guided
tours of artist studios and creative workspaces, hands-on workshops, gallery
exhibitions, demonstrations, artist talks, and receptions. Festival schedule
attached. For full listing information, visit philaopenstudios.org or call
215-546-7775.
Studio Tours are divided geographically over the course of two weekends and
run Saturday and Sunday from Noon to 6pm. Program offerings spanning 18
unique neighborhoods quite literally put the professional visual artists “on
the map” for locals and tourists alike. As a program of the Center for
Emerging Visual Artists, The Open Studio Tours create substantive
opportunities for Philadelphia artists, increases awareness of the quality and
quantity of visual art in our city, and creates strong bonds among artists,
local businesses, arts organizations, and the general public.
As the premier fall visual arts festival, The Philadelphia Open Studio Tours
cumulatively provides an opportunity for the public to engage with
Philadelphia’s entire arts community from a new perspective – and based on
individual’s own specific interests. No other program in or around
Philadelphia consistently brings such an intimate and diverse cultural
experience to the community free of charge and across such a large geographic
area.
