German artist Tina Buchholtz has invented a complicated technique by combining airbrush, gum and colour pigment. Still remained as the most prominent feature in her paintings, the lines are created by a process of “subtraction” this time. They are more expressive than ever, weaving, spinning and forming a universe of their own.
This is the artist’s second solo exhibition in the gallery. She exhibits regularly in Berlin, Zurich and Rome and her works can be found in the collection of the German Parliament, SAP, Hasso Plattner Foundation and private collection. They are also auctioned by Neumeister Auktionshaus in Munich.
“In Fireflies the flight paths of the glowing worms appear as if they have been under long term exposure. Dancing and vibrating points of light merge into one another in a sea of light on a dark night. Tina Buchholz has succeeded in capturing light and movement simultaneously and making this visible.“ - Dr. Viola Tallowitz-Scharf, Art Historian
The artist will be present at the opening reception on 19th October.
