DENVER, COLORADO - 10/19/10 -
Translations Gallery is proud to present an
exhibition of work by emerging Colorado artists Robert Bell & Stanley Scott
November 3rd through November 30th, 2010. An Artist Reception will be held on
Friday, November 5th 5:00 - 8:30pm with both artists in attendance. Robert Bell
will also be our featured artist for Live Painting & Brunch on Saturday,
November 13th 12-2pm.
Robert Bell and Stanley
Scott
are two Colorado artists, and both graduated from Colorado State University.
The forms in Robert
Bell's paintings are
images
revealed to him through dreams. Viewers are invited to interpret them
through
their own life experiences and imaginations. His color palette is inspired
by
colors of the Colorado landscape, and he often paints on unique materials
like
wood and steel.
Stanley Scott's drawings and prints are real
depictions
of, and responses to, internal conflict. These unexpressed emotions are
the
source of the tension in the images. His mediums of choice, printmaking
and
drawing, allow him to create complex color arrangements and use fine
detailing
to reveal the expressions in his figures and the precise directions of
twisting
and pulling in his studies of knots.
