The paintings of Harout Harutiunyan, one of the most admired and influential leaders of the Armenian art world, are showcased on the unique Passport Arts website: www.passportarts.com.
While most of the artists featured in the Passport Arts online gallery are little known outside their native countries, Harutiunyan’s magical, often fantastic paintings have been shown in numerous international exhibitions and are in many prestigious venues, including the Museum of Modern Art. In his own country, Harutiunyan is respected as the curator of the Museum of Fine Arts in Etchmiadzin, he spiritual centre of Armenia and the seat of the Catholicos of all Armenians. See Harout Harutiunyan’s portfolio.
“We are delighted that Maestro Harutiunyan has chosen Passport Arts to present his work to a global audience,” said Asbed Palakian, the Montreal-based director of Passport Arts.
“People who have not had an opportunity to view his work in exhibitions or galleries can now see a wide range of his paintings online.”
Harout Harutiunyan is one of fifteen artists of the Caucasus—Armenia, Georgia, Nagorno-Karabakh, and the Black Sea region of Russia--whose works are displayed at www.passportarts.com. The website is both gallery and marketplace for the works, which can be viewed and purchased online (“at prices,” Palakian adds, “significantly lower than one would expect in a conventional gallery”).
