Der Fänger im Netz

Der Künstler Adib Fricke präsentiert seine textbasierte Kunst ab dem
18. September in der Ausstellung »Once I say I, I am talking to you« bei
Realace.

Frickes Kunst entsteht aus der Beschäftigung mit dem Einfluss der
virtuellen Realität auf den Menschen, seine Welt und seine Worte.
Während – Marshall McLuhan folgend – der Buchdruck das Wort aufwertete,
entwertet das Internet dessen Bedeutung. Das Netz ist ein unendliches
Archiv an ungefilterten und unzensierten Äußerungen in Text und Bild.
In ihrer Masse sind das einzelne Wort und einzelne Bild bedeutungslos.

Adib Fricke schwimmt gegen den Strom. Er holt das Wort, den Satz, zurück
in die analoge Welt, fragmentarisch als Ausgangspunkt für Assoziationen.
Abgekoppelt von einem Autor, losgelöst von einem Kontext, arbeitet er
mit Textstücken als Rohstoff seiner Kunst. Dabei bedient er sich dem
unbegrenzten Fundus von Texten im weltweiten Netz. Er systematisiert sie
beispielsweise nach thematischen oder grammatischen Aspekten, filtert
und zerstückelt sie und setzt sie wieder zu etwas Neuem zusammen: Zu
Sätzen, die keiner inneren Logik zu folgen scheinen, aber dennoch
irgendwie bekannt wirken. ...

are countless writing styles and scripts that we encounter when reading.
Only through them does what is written obtain its true weight. With the
determination of a swordfighter, Adib Fricke severs his textual material
from the verbiage of the day-to-day and reassembles it into blocks of
texts. Texts without meaning – supposedly. But the meaning is never
lost. Quite the contrary: new spaces open up that extend far beyond the
