Artspace Launches New Art Education Program

Track-Out Program Offers Hands-On Classes For Year-Round Elementary And Middle School Students

RALEIGH, N.C. – Mary Poole, executive director of Artspace (www.artspacenc.org), has announced that the art center will launch a pilot educational program for year-round school track-outs. This program offers intensive-yet-fun, project-oriented classes for students in third through eighth grades. Sessions include painting, drawing, mosaics, mixed media work and more. The next track-out is Oct. 12-16, and the program will continue throughout the school year. The track-out program provides a unique opportunity for students to work directly with professional artists and gain quality experience through hands-on activities. DETAILS:

- Track-out time is the three-week period when students are on vacation, or “tracked-out” of school. This time is also referred to as “intersession.”

- Students can take multiple classes each day during the track-out.
