Las Cuatro Estaciones

El cordobés Walter Vera nos deleita con la presentación de la serie “Las Cuatro Estaciones”, obras donde logra plasmar en un formato pequeño a medio, la intensa presencia de los distintos climas y sus particularidades.
Su formación en el campo textil, participación constante en muestras individuales y colectivas desde el año 2004 y premios y menciones del Salón Nacional de Córdoba, dan al artista el aval suficiente para entregarse a la experimentación y el goce del juego en la confección de las obras que se exhiben en la galería de arte María Elena Kravetz.
Desde el aspecto formal y destacando el uso del fieltro de manufactura artesanal como soporte, se destaca el contraste de los colores, haciendo eco de los tonos característicos de las estaciones del año; un manejo de la fibra textil con alto grado de conocimiento y sutileza permite apreciar la exquisita factura que adquiere el acabado final de las obras. Pero si en algo de basa la armonía y el equilibrio del conjunto, es en la interacción de los colores, los materiales y las texturas. Los tintes naturales, las anilinas,  el bordado y los apliques, completan la coherencia de las obras.
Siguiendo la teoría hegeliana sobre las relaciones humanas y las redes que se tienden cuando entramos en contacto con otras personas, encontramos que ese entramado social se traduce en las obras de cada artista que se dispone a crear; siempre hay algo de quienes tocaron en alguna oportunidad nuestro camino y nos afectaron de alguna forma. Vera se propone entonces una suerte de homenaje a todos aquellos que, en sus propias palabras,  se han cruzado mientras el iba  “siguiendo el hilo”.
Obras que se presentan como un universo en si mismo  al tiempo que representan un colectivo que las vincula; “tapices contemporáneos-urbanos”, como el artista las define, son la síntesis hasta el momento, de su experiencia de vida y la relación que fue construyendo con los textiles, tratando de descifrar los delicados códigos que transforman una humilde hebra en un bordado y éste en una obra de arte.

The Four Seasons

Walter Vera, from the city of Córdoba, delights us with the presentation of the "The Four Seasons", where he captures in a small - medium format, the intense presence of the different climates and its characteristic.
His background in the textile field, his constant participation in solo and group exhibitions since 2004 and his awards and distinctions at the National Salon of Córdoba, give the artist the endorsement to approach experimentation and the joy of playing while making the pieces he exhibits at Maria Elena Kravetz art gallery.
From a formal perspective and highlighting the usage of the handmade felt as support, the contrast of the colors stands out as the echo of the dominant tones of each season of the year; the handling of the textile fiber with enormous knowledge and subtleness allows us to appreciate the exquisite imprint that acquires the final piece. But the general armony and equilibrium is based on the interaction of colors, materials and textures. The natural dyes, anilines, embroideries and ornamental details, complete the coherence of the art works.
Following Hegel´s theory regarding human relations and the nets we build when we get touch with other people, we find out, that social interweave translates into each work the artists create; there´ s always something left of those who stepped in our road and affected us in some way. Vera proposes homage to all those people that, in his own words, crossed his road while he was "following the thread".
Works  that present  themselves as a universe itself  and at the same time, represent a collective that relates them; "contemporary-urban tapestries", as the artist defines them, summarize  his experience  in life and the bonds he created with the textiles up to now,  trying to decipher the delicate codes which turn a humble thread   into an embroidery and this into a work of art.
