About every fifteen years or so, Touchstone changes locations and reinvents itself. This time extensive building renovation at 406 7th Street is prompting us to get a new lease on life and a new lease for a new space.
To mark our first 35 years as the oldest artist owned gallery in the area and to welcome the next 35, we want to celebrate the main reason for our longevity: YOU.
You have supported, enlivened and inspired us over the years, following us from P Street to R street to 7th Street. We thank you for your support and to invite you to follow us to our next location (to be announced next week).
To that end, we are having Touchstone On The Move Auction and "farewell to 7th Street" party.

Gallery has been a prominent, artist-owned gallery since 1976. The
gallery moved in 1996 to an elegant and spacious location at 7th and D
street NW in downtown Washington. At this 3000-plus
square-foot location, Touchstone is based in the heart of an active art
scene.
