You are invited to participate in Ticking a collection of artist created
clocks. 


On Monday the 9th of November the AVA will be holding its Annual
Artreach fundraiser.

For Ticking each artist will be provided with 3 mm clear Perspex,
drilled and ready for the clock movement. The clock will be assembled by
the AVA.  The Perspex can be collected from the AVA anytime from the 6th
of October 2009 and returned to the gallery by the 2nd of November 2009.
All clocks will be auctioned with full proceeds going towards the AVA
Artreach Fund.

 
The Artreach Fund was founded by the committee of AVA in the late 1980s;
its vision was to create a fund that would assist needy and deserving
visual artists with their art-related needs. Twenty- eight years later
it is still going strong.
 
Over the years the Artreach fund has assisted a host of art students
with art materials, artists with studio rentals and exhibitions expenses
for their shows at AVA. In addition, Artreach has contributed to the
creation of a sculpture peace park, an art gallery in a secondary
school, art catalogues, projects with street youth, printmaking
programmes and children's art classes in the Cape Flats.
 

Every Artreach fund raiser offers artists and the artistic community a
chance to support itself.
