Robert Wilson, Roberto Bolle, and Rufus Wainwright
Perchance To Dream | Talk | Concert
Dear Friends of Robert Wilson,
Bob is visiting his home city after an incredibly successful and beautiful opening of The Makropulos Case by Karel Capek in Prague. I hope you will hear much news of it as it travels to many different cities in the future. This week Bob opens his exhibition, Perchance To Dream, a series of video portraits he did of Italian star dancer Roberto Bolle mixed with a landscape of Italian contemporary design. The exhibition is part of I Saloni Milano in New York, a celebration of Italian Design in New York City which also features Peter Greenaway's Last Supper at the Park Avenue Armory. Perchance to Dream
can be seen at Center 548
through the 18th of December. It is open Tuesday - Saturday from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
On Monday, December 6, Bob will be part of the famous series "talk about nothing" at the Rubin Museum of Art. His partner will be Charles Renfro of Diller Scofidio + Renfro (Swiss Blur and New York's High Line and of course Lincoln Center) to address the significance of space and emptiness. Tickets for this hour long talk at the Rubin Museum on 150 West 17th Street at 6 p.m. are available HERE.
After the lecture Bob will rush uptown to Carnegie Hall to hear his friend Rufus Wainwright's solo piano and voice evening in the main hall starting at 8 p.m. He will be performing his latest studio album All Days are Nights: Songs for Lulu in the first half and earlier work including some of the Judy Garland material that he premiered at Carnegie Hall in the second half. Three of the Shakespeare Sonnets that Rufus wrote for Bob's production at the Berliner Ensemble are part of that album. The great visual artist Douglas Gordon has created a new hour-long video piece for All Days are Nights: Songs for Lulu
that will be displayed behind Rufus during the first half of the show. Click HERE to get some of the few remaining tickets and be with Bob for the entire evening.
Warm regards,
Jorn Weisbrodt
Executive Director, RW Work
