Gifts for Everyone on Your List DO YOUR SHOPPING AT THE MUSEUM GIFT SHOP
|
Holiday carolers recently stopped by the Museum Gift Shop to serenade shoppers browsing our hand-crafted and one-of-a-kind items.
Did you know the Museum Shop has gift ideas and stocking stuffers for every budget and every taste?
These are not just for quilters, either. We have jewelry, accessories, clothing, household items, toys and books for young and old.
For kids, we also have an extensive collection of sewing and doll-making kits that are just too cute to pass up.
Has Aunt Minnie always wanted a hand-made quilt but you don't have time to make one? No problem. You can get that here, too.
We're conveniently located in downtown Lowell, whose independent shops offer a welcome alternative to boring chain store shopping at the local mall. Parking is convenient, too, at street meters or at an indoor lot just steps from the Museum.
And while we can't promise professional carolers when you come, our staff will be happy to hum a few choruses of Winter Wonderland to help brighten your shopping experience!

In addition, the AFAM is also offering Infinite Variety: 3 Centuries of Red & White Quilts, on display at the Park Street Armory for 6 days only. This exhibit will feature 650 two-color quilts, many of which have never been shown in public before.
More details about our bus trip to visit these two very special shows will be forthcoming soon. Mark your calendar now and keep watching the Museum website (www.NEQuiltMuseum.org).
Also coming: a Museum-sponsored trip to Ireland, July 6-14, 2011. This 9-day Quilting Tour is only $3689, which includes roundtrip airfare, 1st class hotels, most meals, and a guided motor coach tour of prime textile and tourism sites on the Emerald Isle.

SEEKING TWO SPECIAL VOLUNTEERS
|
We're looking for two very special volunteers:
1. A retired human resources professional to serve as the Museum's Volunteer Coordinator. Should live near Lowell and be available to recruit, interview and orient new volunteers.
2. A retired software engineer/database administrator to assist Museum staff with a variety of database projects in the library, gift shop and curatorial department. Some tasks can be performed from home; others require time at the Museum.
In addition, we're always seeking volunteers to help with a wide range of activities. Whether you have a lot of time to donate or just a little, we can use your skills. Join our dedicated team and enjoy all the excitement here at the heart of the New England quilt community.
See the Museum website for information on these and other volunteer opportunities: www.nequiltmuseum.org/support-us/volunteer.html. Then, contact us at volunteer@nequiltmuseum.org to discuss your interests and availability.
