Halcyon Is Open
Mint Museum UPTOWN
After a day at the Mint Museum Uptown, treat yourself to an artfully prepared meal at the new café. Managed by Something Classic Catering, Halcyon features seasonal, farm-to-table dishes created by Executive Chef Marc Jacksina using locally sourced ingredients. The café is open for lunch daily and dinner Tuesday-Saturday. Mint members receive a 10% discount off food items. For more information, call 704.910.0865.

Mint Museum Uptown Tours
There are three convenient ways to learn more about the collections at the Mint Museum Uptown. If you only have an hour, download the Power Hour self-guided tour with all of the must-see highlights. A Cell Phone Tour is another easy option that lets you learn about specific artworks at your own pace. Have a group that wants to visit? Schedule a docent-led tour with the Tour Coordinator at least one month in advance.

Join us for the art of EmbellishMINT. Carmen Cutrona of Carmen! Carmen! Salon and Spa will be here to share style secrets to embellish your look. This month's First Friday is loaded with artsy fun for all ages, including docent-led tours of the galleries, live jazz with Buff Dillard, a DIY Studio featuring holiday crafts, sketching in the galleries, a cash bar, and more. The Mint Museum Shop and café will be open.

This year's party features entertainment by Emmy Award winner Farmer Jason (of Jason and the Scorchers fame) and Art Vark, the Jr. Mint Kids Club Mascot. Mint members' children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews ages 5-12 are invited to this special holiday event. All children must be accompanied by an adult. In 1644, the Manchu-Qing nomads took control of China, overthrowing the Ming Dynasty. Court robes of this era display a rich ornamentation of symbolism and decorative representations of the Manchu cosmos. The Mint Museum's Asian Art Collection includes ceramics, historic costume, works on paper, and furniture.
