This exhibition, which will continue till April next, features a selection of paintings dating as far back as 15th century. This Radha-Krishna painting is from Kishangarh in Rajasthan (India).

PMA, in its permanent collection, also has various Hinduism focused artifacts, like paintings depicting Brahma honors Krishna, Dashratha distributing gifts, dying Jatayu, Kamadhenu, Krishna, Bhairava, Shiva-Shakti mandala, Rishi, Sudama’s journey, Kali slaying demons, Vishvamitra and Dashratha, Markandeya; sculptures of dancing Ganesha, Garuda, Indra, Nandi, Nataraja, Surya; pillared temple hall; Brahmanic cord; Devimahatmya manuscript; Rameshwaram Temple pictures; etc.

Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, commended PMA for providing opportunity to the world to further explore Hinduism and its concepts.

Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, said that art had a long and rich tradition in Hinduism and ancient Sanskrit literature talked about religious paintings of deities on wood or cloth.

Rajan Zed urged major art museums of the world, including Musee du Louvre and Musee d'Orsay of Paris, Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, Los Angeles Getty Center, Uffizi Gallery of Florence (Italy), Art Institute of Chicago, Tate Modern of London, Prado Museum of Madrid, National Gallery of Art in Washington DC, etc., to acquire more Hindu art in their collections and frequently organize Hindu art focused exhibitions, thus sharing the rich Hindu art heritage with the rest of the world.

The Philadelphia Museum of Art in Pennsylvania is among the largest art museums in USA, showcasing over 2,000 years of exceptional human creativity in masterpieces of painting, sculpture, works on paper, decorative arts and architectural settings from Asia, Europe, Latin America, and USA. Constance H. Williams is the Chair of its Board of Trustees.

Hinduism, oldest and third largest religion of the world, has about one billion adherents and moksh (liberation) is its ultimate goal.
