JORGE ALBERTELLA is a visual artist interested in the expansive nature of mixed media. He uses steel, wood, paint and other elements to create emblematic and geometrically-based work. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Mr. Albertella spent his early life studying painting and drawing. As a young man, he traveled to New York and then Los Angeles, where he received a PhD in Psychology from the University of Southern California. After maintaining a successful practice, he then pursued a career in theatre. He also wrote eight published novels and several award-winning plays. He became known for his eclectic career, rigorous work schedule and a constant pursuit and support of fine arts. However he never abandoned his original love of painting, exhibiting his work in Los Angeles while continuing his career in other fields. He currently shows his work in Los Angeles, and his paintings are also exhibited throughout the United States as well as internationally. His work is in the permanent collection at the Museum of Latin American Art in Long Beach, California

HACER [b. 1976] is a Los Angeles-based American sculptor who designs and builds monumental, bold, "origami-inspired" metal forms for public installation. Abandoned by teenage, Mexican-American gang member parents at birth; he grew up in a series of gang-affiliated foster homes. Custody to a lifestyle of violence and addiction, he learned to escape by folding origami animals. During adolescence his foldings gave way to a fascination with graffiti and the gang culture surrounding it. "In time, my escape escaped me. I became the lifestyle with one reach: death. In its grasp I found Calder's massive, red-orange, Los Angeles sculpture "The Four Arches". He/it gave me a new reach: life." Breaking from his birth name, "Gomez-Martinez", he choose the name "Hacer" which means TO DO in Spanish and, reuniting with the multi-folded artform he learned at age seven, emerged as a sculptor. With several public installations in the ground, Hacer's minimalist sculptures that predominantly use animal forms to comment on the devastation caused by societal ignorance and self-absorption, are fast -becoming emblematic. By reducing the form to its essence, he retains the dynamic angles, plains and shadows that attract him to the aesthetic while staying true to his Bauhaus "form follows function" approach to life and design.
