ANNOUNCEMENT OF WINNER

PHOTOMONTH east london photography festival is pleased to announce the winner of the Photomonth Youth Photography Award 2010 sponsored by The World Photography Organisation.

The theme for the 2010 award was GO LOCAL and discover your neighbourhood.
Five finalists were selected and their images exhibited at the Photomonth Photofair on the World Photography Stand in the Spitalfields Traders Market, the Photomonth Photo-Open at the Old Truman Brewery and the Photo-Open Extra at The Rich Mix. At each of these exhibitions the public were invited to vote for the winning photographer.

WINNER
Eleanor Bennett (14 yrs) Stockport
Eleanor is home-educated. Her winning photographs were taken within 5 miles of her home and include images of a laughing woman with her dog, an old caravan gradually disintegrating and a self portrait braving the elements.

Eleanor is a keen photographer with a particular interest in the natural environment and would like to have a career in documentary photography.

The Winner receives two tickets to the World Photography Festival in London at Somerset House 26 April-1 May 2011 and two tickets to the Sony World Photography Awards ceremony on 27 April 2011 at the Odeon Leicester Square.

All five finalists receive a day of mentorship with leading photographers from the World Photographic Academy at the World Photography Festival.

PHOTOMONTH east london is the largest photography festival in the UK and takes place in October & November each year.
