The Story of the Last Ginger Nut
The biscuit tin is empty; the last ginger nut consumed. It must be Christmas...
Over the last year, your continued engagement with Artsource and its members is highly valued.
We marvel at the myriad of supporters, advisors, partnerships and connections that makes Artsource effective.
2010 has been another exciting year at Artsource - the growth of our Art Consultancy team, three artists recognised for their Lifetime Achievements, five artists given wings to fly on residencies and the opening of the Midland studio building are just a few highlights.
As we turn the corner into 2011, we eagerly anticipate the launch of our new website and an expanded public program.
Thank you for a ginger nut filled year; have a happy Christmas season,
from all of us, the Artsource team.
Artsource - supporting artists since 1986.
Please note: Artsource offices will be closed from 5pm Friday 17 December, opening again for normal business hours, 9am – 5pm, on Monday 11 January.

About the photo above:
Peter Farmer, Scarred Trees; Male (left), Female (right); steel, 4.8m x 0.3m

On entering the Yagan Memorial Park in the Swan Valley, we are greeted by Peter Farmer's Scarred Trees. For Nyoongar people, scarred trees identify country, midden sites, traditional burial and birthing sites, ceremonial areas and more.
The Yagan Memorial Park was initiated by The Derbarl Yerrigan Committee for the Reburial of Yagan's Kaat to create a special place to commemorate the life, death and spirit of the great Nyoongar leader and warrior, Yagan (c. 1795 – 11 July 1833) and as a Burial Site for Yagan’s repatriated Kaat (head). Other artists involved in the project include: Sandra Hill and Jenny Dawson. Artsource
was the City of Swan's preferred art consultancy.
This project was supported by: the City of Swan, the Department of Indigenous Affairs, Lotterywest and the Western Australian State Government.
