Nexus Award 2011: Call for Nominations Deadline: Fri, Dec 31 The Nexus Award is given in recognition of demonstrated excellence and achievement by individuals who have made a profound contribution to contemporary visual art in Atlanta and beyond. We have opened up the nomination process to the public to begin the process of selecting the recipient(s) of the 2011 Nexus Award. All nominations will be considered by the ACAC Board of Directors and staff before making the final choice of award recipient(s). Need a Great Studio? Call for Applications Deadline: Mon, Jan 3 ACAC is accepting applications for a studio space in our Studio Artist Program, available Feb 1, 2011. Application deadline is 5:00 pm, Mon, Jan 3, 2011. Our review panel will consider all submissions and the lucky artist will be notified the week of Jan 10. Need a Great Gift? Visit our SHOP Yes, you can have your art and eat on it too. Whatever your food of choice, you can serve it in style with Gregor Turk's PlaceMates, which feature pictograms that the artist has collected from around the world. He discovered there is no uniformity in the representation of male and female, and has transferred these varied symbols to plates and bowls for your dining or display pleasure. As Turk suggests, imagine a dinner party where each of your guests selects a seat by choosing their PlaceMate of choice. There's lots of fun to be had dissecting the preferences!
