| Dear Friend,
As we head into the final days of 2010, we here at New Village Arts thought that we would share with all of you (and the world at large) the things that most inspire us about our work and New Village Arts.
As many of you know, I’m the newest staff person at NVA. I joined the team this past June and, six months later, I can say it was the best decision I’ve ever made. So, here goes – my list of what inspires me about my work and our lovely theatre.
- We have the most dedicated, engaged community I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Our season subscribers, our Board Members, our donors, our local businesses, the City of Carlsbad, I have never encountered a group of people so ready to tell me why they love New Village Arts and why everyone else should too.
- The amazing and talented group of people I have the privilege of working for and with. I’m continually inspired by the enthusiasm and creativity with which every production and artistic team tackles projects. Meanwhile, the NVA Art Foundry artists fill our walls with provocative and engaging visual art. For those of you that haven’t tried surrounding yourself with incredibly creative people, I recommend it.
- Our artistic productions will always be our number one priority. Listening to Kristianne talk about the inspiration for NVA and our dedication to the artistic process is sure to give anyone chills. Coming from a theatre background, I’ve always enjoyed new, adventurous, and challenging work and to come to a theatre that not only values those same things, but thrives in their commitment to them, makes this the most inspiring and thrilling time of my life.
