PEEPS® FEST DELIGHTFUL DESSERTS COMPETITION FINALISTS ANNOUNCED
BETHLEHEM, PA—Six Bethlehem restaurants will put their PEEPS® desserts up against the taste buds of a local celebrity judging panel during the finals of the Delightful Desserts Competition at PEEPS® Fest Dec. 30 from 1:30-2 p.m. Samples of the desserts will also be available to PEEPS® Fest attendees who secure one of 50 Tasting Tickets made available to the public Dec. 30 starting at noon.
The finalists, as determined by online voting at www.artsquest.org/peepsfest, and their desserts are:
Blue Sky Café, 22 W. Fourth St., Bethlehem - Chick a Didle Muffins
Edge Restaurant, 74 W. Broad St., Bethlehem – PEEPS® Rocky Road Pot de Crème
Looper's Grille & Bar, 313 E. Third St., Bethlehem – Peepsa and PEEPS® in the Valley
Molly's Irish Grille & Sports Bar, 4 E. Fourth St., Bethlehem - PEEPS®fection
Starter's Riverport, 17 W. Second St., Bethlehem – Caramel S’mores PEEPS® Cheesecake
The Vineyard, 605 Fiot St., Bethlehem – Chocolate Marshmallows
During the Delightful Desserts finals, judges will rate each dessert based on taste, presentation and creative use of PEEPS®. Judges are Diane Stoneback, food editor of The Morning Call; Kelly Huth, assistant features editor for The Express-Times; Matt Broderick, meteorologist with 69-WFMZ-TV; Matt Pye, Vice President of Brand Development and Corporate Services for Just Born; and Brian Bachrach, Senior Brand Manager for Just Born. The grand-prize winner of the competition will take home a handcrafted glass PEEPS® Chick from ArtsQuest’s glass studio at the Banana Factory, and all participants will also receive an official 2010 Delightful Desserts Competition Certificate.
Finalists’ recipes will be available for PEEPS® Fest attendees to take home and try making themselves. In addition, Tasting Tickets that allow PEEPS® Fest patrons to sample the desserts will be distributed to the first 50 people who enter PEEPS® Fest Dec. 30. Tickets will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis when the festival opens at noon.
PEEPS® Fest is presented by Just Born and ArtsQuest. Hours are noon-5 p.m. Dec. 29-31. Admission is $4 for ages 2-12 and $6 for ages 13 and older; ages under 2 are free. A three-day festival pass, providing access to all of the fun and festivities of PEEPS® Fest, is also available. Cost for the three-day pass is $6 for ages 2-12 and $10 for ages 13 and older.
