Dear friends and colleagues,
I've had a very successful year. I won The Village Voice Web Award for Best Art Blog, I was nominated for Critic of Year at The Rob Pruitt Art Awards, and I produced The Sound of Art, a limited edition LP filled with the sounds of installations, performances and videos heard across New York. These are accomplishments I'm very proud of, but they are not mine alone. They simply could not have been acheived without your support. Your donations allow me to spend more time looking at art and writing about it. They also helped me redesign the site and develop and maintain a newsletter service.
And so, while I manage the website entirely on my own save for a few interns, it is simply not a viable practice without the support of the community it serves.
My goal is to promote the best underknown and emerging artists from New York and beyond. By donating you support not just the blog, but the thousands of struggling artists and professionals about to make their mark on the art world. This is the value of independant publishing. I urge you to stake your claim in it today.
Sincerely,
Paddy Johnson
