March 26-28, 2011 BUS TRIP TO THREE (!) DAZZLING QUILT SHOWS
|
Join us March 26-28 for an exciting 3-day/2-night bus trip to New York City to visit THREE once-in-a-lifetime quilt exhibitions.
The American Folk Art Museum has declared 2011 the Year of the Quilt. In its honor, they are mounting three very special exhibits of rarely-seen quilts. "Masterworks from the AFAM" features exquisite pieces from the museum's permanent collection. At the Lincoln Square Branch, see "Super Stars," a dazzling array of star-themed quilts. Finally, at the Park Avenue Armory, 650 outstanding quilts will be gathered together for a special, 6-day-only event: "Infinite Variety: Three Centuries of Red & White Quilts."
The New England Quilt Museum is working with Pitcairn Tours to bring you this great opportunity, which includes docent-guided tours of the quilt exhibits and a self-guided tour of the city's Garment District. Travel to New York and in the city will be by comfortable coach bus with a guide and refreshments. Visitors will stay at the Renaissance Times Square Hotel. Total cost: $459, which includes travel, accommodations (double occupancy), guides, gratuities and museum admission. Single accommodations are available for an additional charge. Space is very limited, so email pitcairntours@mail.com today to reserve your spot! RESERVATION DEADLINE: FEBRUARY 15, 2011.
