January 3, 2010
TWSA and
Museum host Watercolor Workshop
The Transparent Watercolor Society of
America and the Kenosha Public Museum are partnering to offer a
unique watercolor workshop experience. The “Cabin Fever Workshop”
is January 20, 21 and 22, 2011 with instructor Dick Shipley.
Experienced, intermediate and beginning watercolor painters are
welcome. Students will explore fresh and spontaneous watercolor with
emphasis on florals, layering, glazes and washes. Students receive
personal instruction as well as daily critiques, discussions and
demonstrations.
As a watercolorist, Dick Shipley has
his own take on reality. He enjoys melding this view with realism.
His paintings reveal a new spontaneity regardless of the subject
matter. Shipley earned a degree from Carnegie Mellon University
leading to a long career designing interior spaces. He's been
painting watercolor since 1997 and teaches classes in the Chicago
area. He is a signature member of the Transparent Watercolor Society
of America, the National Watercolor Society and the Watercolor
Society of Indiana.
The three-day workshop meets from 9:30
am to 4:30 pm each day. A catered lunch is included in the fee. The
cost is $225 for TWSA or Museum members. The cost for nonmembers is
$260. Supply lists will be emailed prior to the class. Advance
registration by January 12 is required. For more information or to
register call the Museum at 262-653-4140 by January 12.
