Exhibition Openings Dana Schutz: Drawings & Prints Embodying Fri Jan 7, 8-10 pm Join us for the opening of Dana Schutz: Drawings & Prints, and Embodying, a group show with Joe Biel, James Gobel, Stephen Schofield, Allison Smith, and Richard T. Walker. Schutz is a New York-based painter known for combining fantastic narratives, exuberant handling of materials, and pictorial inventiveness. The artists in Embodying investigate physical and psychological aspects of the human body, drawing inspiration from classic literature, nature, and urban life. Patron Members are invited to join us for a Preview and Tour, 7-8 pm, with complimentary beverages. Embodying is supported through Artadia: The Fund for Art and Dialogue with lead support by The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.

News from the Studios The 14 artists in our Studio Artist Program are active professionals who contribute to the arts in Atlanta and beyond. We want you to know what they're up to. Marc Brotherton and Craig Drennen have work in MOCA GA Salutes the Rising Movers & Shakers of the Georgia Arts Scene, Jan 22 – Mar 19. Opening reception is Fri, Jan 21, 6:30-8:30 pm. Mark Leibert's solo show, Interstices, will be on view at Sandler Hudson Gallery through Jan 8. Dayna Thacker was featured in the inaugural Atlanta issue of Young, Foxy & Free magazine, and she and her husband, artist Rich Gere, are interviewed in this month's Art Crush at Burnaway.org. Thacker also has work in Little Things Mean a Lot at Swan Coach House Gallery through Jan 8. Nancy VanDevender's work will be included in ...After the Suburbs, curated by Karen Tauches, at Kiang Gallery, Jan 21 – Mar 19, and in Sex Drive, curated by Stuart Horodner, at Cantor Fitzgerald Gallery, Haverford College, Pennsylvania, Jan 28 – Mar 4. She has also been invited by the Painting Department at SCAD Atlanta to give an artist talk on January 19 as part of the Visiting Artist program. Need a Great Studio? We have extended the application deadline for a studio space in our Studio Artist Program. Available Mar 1, 2011 is a large, 755 square foot studio with all utilities and parking included. We are accepting applications until 5:00 pm, Sun, Jan 16, 2011. Our review panel will consider all submissions and the lucky artist will be notified by the end of Jan.
