KENOSHA, WI – Dale Johnson narrates
Texas: Byways & Highways at
7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21 as part of the Kenosha Public Museum's
Travelogue series at the Reuther Auditorium. Johnson
presents a program on the second most populated state, with more than
24 million people. Football is the state religion -- oil, cotton,
peanuts and cattle, are the economic foundation. Explore NASA,
numerous metropolises, the Big Thicket, a technological Silicone
Valley, and the capital. Although this land used to be a part of
Mexico, in the Rio Grande Valley the security fence now makes a
highly visible demarcation between the two; Johnson explores both
the symbolism behind and effectiveness of this border.
This
free program is open to the public and will be held at Reuther
Auditorium, located at 58th
street and Sheridan Road. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. Travelogues are
sponsored by the Kenosha Public Museums and supported in part by
grants from the Kenosha News and Parkside Manor.
