Horse Rescue/Service Dog Benefit
C Street
C Street is located just off of Main Street in historic Laurel, MD.  The town was founded to support a grist mill which then became a duct cotton mill.  Laurel, MD is quite literally the source of the fabric for adventure.  This cotton was used to form the sails of ships readying for seaward adventures and to cover wagons going west.

We are building community on C Street now and embracing the spirit of hard work, great craft, and joyful celebration.

Join us in the spirit of adventure and help support the arts and the animals this month!

Greetings!

As Venus Theatre takes submissions and lines up 2011, we also continue our collaboration with C Street Gallery.  Not Your Average Dog and Pony Show is a whimsical exhibit that Venus Theatre is happy to celebrate.

Our aim in these collaborations is to build artistic community.

We'll be collaborating on two fundraising events with the gallery on this particular exhibit.  The first happens on the 15th.  Press release below.  Please join us.  And, be on the lookout for further collaborations.

Sincerely,
Deborah Randall

Horse Rescue/Service Dog Benefit
PRESS RELEASE
C Street Gallery, Venus Theatre Play Shack Host Benefit for Horse Rescue, Service Dogs

(Laurel, MD) January 7, 2011 - The C Street Gallery takes its current exhibition, Not Your Average Dog and Pony Show, in a new direction to benefit the Days End Farm Horse Rescue and Fidos for Freedom. In conjunction with the Venus Theatre Play Shack, the Gallery will host the event on Saturday, January 15th from 5-8pm. It will include art displays, demonstrations, raffles, chair massages, and a silent auction.

The show features original artwork by Michael Auger, John Manzo, Jody Mussoff, Ruth Pettus, Matt Sesow and Elise Arnold. A collaborative piece by several Laurel High School students mentored by Arnold will also be on display. Arnold led the students in a workshop to decorate a near life-size horse sculpture using recycled materials. The sculpture will be auctioned off at the event to benefit the Days End Farm Horse Rescue. Other items from the artists will be raffled off to support both organizations.

There will be lots to see, do, and several ways to support Days End Farm Horse Rescue and Fidos for Freedom. Until January 15, check out the work these organizations are doing at www.defhr.org and www.fidosforfreedom.org. More information about the artists and their work can be found at www.cstreetgallery.com.

The C Street Gallery is owned and operated by Abbie Chessler, founding partner of Quatrefoil. For more information about the C Street Gallery or the exhibit,
