FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE MICHAEL PATTERSON-CARVER Loose Lips Do Sink Ships January 16 – February 18, 2011 Opening reception: Sunday, January 16, 6–8pm Patterson-Carver is a self-taught artist, born in Chicago in 1958, and currently living in Northern California. Inspired by childhood exposure to the civil rights movement, he has been a lifelong activist and considers himself a political refugee. In the past two years, Patterson-Carver has exhibited widely, including solo exhibitions at Timothy Taylor Gallery, London; Galerie Laurent Godin, Paris; Sorry We’re Closed, Brussels; and White Columns, New York. A monograph of his work was recently published by Four Corners Books in London, and the US launch of the publication will take place at White Columns on March 5, 2011.
