Artist Lecture: Judy Pfaff

As the Winter 2011 Falk Visiting Artist at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Judy Pfaff will participate in a three-day residency that includes MFA graduate student critiques, public talks, and a solo exhibition at the Weatherspoon. In this lecture, Pfaff will talk about the development of her work and artistic process.

The Falk Visiting Artist program gives students at UNCG and members of the community an opportunity to meet and learn from artists who are active in the field. The program has been produced collaboratively with the Department of Art since 1982. Past Falk Visiting Artists include Carroll Dunham, Lynda Benglis, Dario Robleto, Julie Heffernan, and Dike Blair.

This lecture is open to the public. Seating is limited.

Exhibition Opens: Stacy Lynn Waddell

Stacy Lynn Waddell: The Evidence of Things Unseen showcases recent work by Chapel Hill artist Stacy Lynn Waddell in her first solo museum exhibition.  This exhibition opens on January 22 and runs until April 22.  

The exhibition is co-curated by Xandra Eden, Curator of Exhibitions, Weatherspoon Art Museum and Pamela Wall, Curator of Exhibitions,
Gibbes Museum of Art, Charleston.

Stacy Lynn Waddell talks about her recent work in The Evidence of Things Unseen.

Waddell will also lead an all day workshop for teachers on Saturday, Feb 12. Registration required.

Exhibition Opening: Weatherspoon Art Museum: 70 Years of Collecting

Sunday, Feb 6, 1pm


Join us in celebrating the public opening of Weatherspoon Art Museum: 70 Years of Collecting. This special 70th anniversary exhibition features 100 highlights from the Museum's nationally recognized permanent collection. The afternoon begins at 1pm with remarks from Director Nancy Doll, followed by a curator's tour for Weatherspoon members, and a public reception hosted by the Weatherspoon Art Museum Association.
