Volunteer Training Set At Price Tower Arts Center

BARTLESVILLE, OK – Price Tower Arts Center will host training sessions in February for those interested in volunteering at the National Historic Landmark.  The workshops will prepare volunteers to serve as ambassadors for Frank Lloyd Wright’s only realized skyscraper.

Docents serve as educators by leading tours of the historic building and current exhibitions.  The training is also useful for those looking to volunteer in other ways at the Arts Center.

“Our volunteers are key to our daily success at Price Tower Arts Center,” said Cynthia Naylor, outreach and education coordinator for PTAC.  “We are very appreciative of those who are willing to give their time to make sure others from around the world can enjoy all that the Price Tower has to offer.”

The training sessions will be held at Price Tower Arts Center on Saturday, February 5th and Thursday, February 10th.  Price Tower Arts Center Curator Scott Perkins and Education Coordinator Cynthia Naylor will lead the workshops.  No experience is necessary to become a docent.  The February 5th session will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and includes lunch.  The February 10th training will be held from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. All training materials will be provided.

“The training is informal, but will provide written and spoken information which will prepare the volunteers for the joys and challenges of being a docent,” added Naylor.

To register for docent training or for more information about volunteer opportunities at Price Tower Arts Center, you may call 918.336.4949 and ask for Cynthia.  Additional information about the programs offered by PTAC is available at pricetower.org.
