KENOSHA, WI – Sunday Funday programs offer free fun for the whole family from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 30 at three museums. At the Kenosha Public Museum find out who Rembrandt was, where he lived and when, and what type of art he created. Learn about the artist considered one of the greatest painters and printmakers in European history. Make a Rembrandt-style cap and then step into your art studio to create a self-portrait. See the works of art by Rembrandt in the museum's special exhibition, “Rembrandt: States, Fakes, and Restrikes”.
Stop by the Dinosaur Discovery Museum to learn about Prehistoric Wisconsin. Wisconsin has a rich and fascinating fossil record. Learn about our state fossil, the trilobite, and contribute to a Silurian reef art project.
Drop by the Civil War Museum to learn about Caroline Quarlls and the Underground Railroad. In 1842, Caroline Quarlls became the first Underground Railroad escapee in Wisconsin. Only 16 years old, Caroline ran away from her mistress in St. Louis. Activities throughout the Museum feature Caroline on an “Underground Railroad” adventure.
