Community Workshops

SMP Community Workshop Series
 for detailed program, time and date information.
DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY MADE EASY

Two-part Community Workshop. $60 for both sessions.

Materials included. Cameras and memory cards not provided.

 

THE CAMERA: Shooting and Exposure
Saturday, February 26 · 10 am - 3 pm
Learn core photographic concepts while working with your digital camera. Learn basic digital camera functions and photographic principles such as depth of field, shutter speed, and exposure.
 
DIGITAL IMAGING
Saturday, March 5 · 10 am - 3 pm
Using photographs you shot over the previous week, you will explore new ways to use a computer to edit and retouch your photographs.
PRESERVING YOUR FAMILY PHOTOS 

Two-part Community Workshop. $60 for both sessions.

Materials included. Please bring 20 photographs from your family collection.

 

PRESERVATION & DIGITIZATION TECHNIQUES

Saturday, April 2 · 10 am - 3 pm
Learn the basics of photographic preservation including deterioration factors and storage requirements. Using 20 photographs from your own family collection you will learn and practice digitization and scanning techniques.
 
RETOUCHING
Saturday, April 9 · 10 am - 3 pm
Continue scanning your photographs and learn ways to retouch and restore them using computer software.

PRESERVING YOUR FAMILY PHOTOS

Saturday, April 2 and April 9   10:00am-3:00pm

All workshops include a half hour lunch break (participants should bring a bag lunch).

Registered participants will meet in the Daytona State College Photography Building: 
Building 530 room #214 (upstairs Mac Lab)
Cost is $60.00 per two-part workshop. Each workshop is two days. Participants may not register for only one day.

Reserve your spot today by submitting payment and workshop registration form at the museum reception desk in building 1200 during regular museum hours of operation.

MUSEUM LOCATION

Unless noted otherwise, all museum exhibitions, events and films are presented at the Southeast Museum of Photography which is located on the Daytona Beach campus of Daytona State College at 1200 International Speedway Blvd, three miles east of 1-95.
